This is without a doubt, the best restaurant and dinner experience in Rochester. Every component of each dish was meticulously placed and weighted to enhance each bite. The lamb shank is the best meat forward dish at any restaurant I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection with simplistic seasoning to allow the meat to speak for itself, paired with the texture of the chickpeas, the savory lightness of the grits. The mint/harissa combo for zest and spice rounded it out. The cauliflower with lemon goat cheese is the best rendition of a typically alright vegetable to date. The staple dessert is a perfect balance of intricate flavors, not too sweet, but elevated by the saffron to another level. Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. our waiter (who I wish I remembered their name) was simply ecstatic to be there. He was delighted to share the owner’s vision for elevating his Iranian and Mediterranean food to a fine dining tier. The owner came over to share a toast and the upcoming plans for the restaurant and his passion and genuine care could not be missed. It was our favorite date night and favorite restaurant we’ve been to in the decade I’ve been in Rochester. Do yourself a favor and come here, you will not regret it. TL;DR: go here

Unique place with excellent exotic interior, great service, and Michelin-star worth taste & flavor. Had octopus and foie gras as appetizers, both of which were absolutely balanced well with sauce and condiments. Tuna and scallop main dishes were even more mesmerizing. I’m usually not a fan of tuna, but it was absolutely the best tuna dish I’ve ever had which completely changed my view. Scallops were perfectly cooked, and the saffron rice underneath made the texture perfect. Home made dessert, toasted kataifi completed the dinner perfectly. This re-created bakhlava-like dessert is very unique, far from any conventional legacy dessert, was a perfect combination of pistachio and raspberry coupled with crispy texture with kataifi. Never thought I would find this hidden gem here in Rochester - guaranteed a Michelin star place in my view, only were Michelin to visit Rochester. A MUST visit in Rochester.

WOW! From start to finish this dining experience was immaculate! The decor is warm and inviting yet luxurious. The attention to detail is truly remarkable (there are tassels on the menu!) I came here on a Thursday night, parking is ample and although our party of four had reservations, they seemed to be able to accommodate large parties with the seating arrangement set up. Our server Jenna C was incredibly sweet and offered help with ordering. Our food was DELIGHTFUL. the plating was beautiful and dishes were robust in flavor. The owner, Yasha made a point to bring us our food and ensure we were pleased with our meals. It means (and says a lot) when owners and servers are equally proud and accommodating! Bravo to everyone who works here! What a lovely, relaxing and genuine experience!

Everything here was incredible, and I can’t recommend Chortke highly enough! When you walk in, it’s so beautiful and welcoming. The ambience is artful. Our server, Kenny, took so much time helping us decide on what to eat and even offered to surprise us when we were stuck. Every thing we tried was amazing, and we are foodies so not the easiest to wow. At the end, the owner came to chat with us. He was warm and inspired and let us know some of his plans for new menu items, thanked us profusely for coming in. We were just looking for dinner and left feeling so happy and satisfied with an entire experience.

First time visiting Chortke and we will be back! Every dish had amazing flavors and the service was top notch. Jenna, our server, went through the whole menu and highlighted some favorites and made sure we ordered an appropriate amount of food. Our favorites were the Beef Keftedes and the Roasted Cauliflower. Our steak was slightly undercooked (it happens) but the way the team handled it was awesome. Got a perfectly cooked steak out to us shortly after. Excited that I was finally able to try this place out and highly recommend checking them out!

I’m disappointed I didn’t discover Chortke sooner. The exterior has nothing to draw you in but it’s got a cool vibe once inside and there is impressive talent in the kitchen for sure! The waitstaff are knowledgeable and attentive. Only wine and beer. The prices are a bit on the high side for the portion sizes but that flavors and food quality were excellent.

We had an outstanding experience at Chortke, an Iranian fine dining restaurant that brings elegance and bold flavor to every dish. We started with the mushroom and beet salads — both were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. For mains, I had the spirulina pasta, which was unlike anything I’ve had before — rich, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. My partner’s bluefin tuna was equally impressive, cooked to perfection and seasoned exquisitely. The sides deserve a special mention — the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower were absolutely out of this world. Each bite was packed with depth and creativity. Chortke’s wine list is also phenomenal, with a thoughtful selection that perfectly complements the menu. This place is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food, ambiance, and a true culinary experience. Highly recommended!

Ready to scream into the void about... everything? This restaurant will take the edge right off. Chortke (pronounced Chort-K) is a Persian-inspired paradise. Don't let the location dissuade you. Once inside, you'll forget you parked in a strip mall in western New York (sorry, western New York). The atmosphere is spotless and calming; and the food is ridiculously delicious. Super attentive, very friendly, knowledgeable staff (I hope you get Daniel!) We saw the owner, Yasha Aghdasi, helping clear tables (which was thoughtful, but not necessary: as a fleet of folk discretely stop by after every serving to clear your plates). You know how every restaurant review invariably mandates that 'you must try the fill-in-the-blank' when you go? YOU. MUST. TRY. THE. SCALLOPS. Also, it would be criminal not to leave space for the toasted Kataifi (kuh-TAH-ee-fee) dessert. The most scrumptious thing to ever hit a palate. While departing in a food coma, we made eye contact with Yasha from across the room, and he virtually sprinted to the door to ask us how everything went. We were so enamored with the experience that we hugged him goodbye. Treat yourself to Chortke!
